Reducing significant time delays and costs at site
New Steam Turbine Inspection
Inspection of new Steam Turbine set ensuring product meets contract requirements.
We provide expert inspection services for clients who wish to mitigate the risk of defective rotating equipment being delivered to site, which can ultimately delay plant installation & commissioning.
Our scope covers the turbine, gearbox, generator the ancillary equipment within the Power Island including the Air-Cooled Condenser, vacuum system (liquid ring vacuum pumps) and both the steam bypass and condensate return systems.
Inspection of complex rotating equipment requires the visiting inspector to have design and manufacturing experience, any verification/validation carried out by the visiting engineer (unless resident throughout the build) and is likely to cover a very small and targeted scope of work.
Our Engineers have a wealth of experience and can assist the client in preparing and executing quality plan activities, maximising the return on inspection costs.
In our experience many of the problems that occur on site are between the equipment and the site interface, this may include items such as foundation dimensions, electrical connection (junction boxes), controls interface, and not least pipework. The faults include but are not limited to, dimensional inaccuracy, incorrect piping system/sizes, cable identification issues.
We undertake comprehensive QA data book and Operating Manual reviews.
Our engineers have considerable experience in carrying out both factory and site acceptance tests both as the OEM and on behalf of clients.
Safety is paramount for all buyers of rotating equipment, the PUWER regulations are the responsibility of the user, however its important to ensure that the manufacturer has met their CE marking obligations as defined in the Machinery and other applicable Directives.
We have experience of importing equipment from locations around the world into Europe, ensuring that relevant documentation is supplied for the equipment to be imported.
We work closely with our clients to ensure that all product and operating documentation is supplied in a timely manner. We supply detailed visit reports prior to leaving the facility.
We ensured the equipment was delivered as required by the contract, and all documentation provided as per CE requirements.
